This was
one of the first cards I received through Postcrossing from a lovely person called Pennina. I "met" her first through BookCrossing and we both joined the postcard exchange at much the same time when it was first set up. She has been inactive on either site in the last several months, not responding to any contact. So, while I was perhaps not surprised, I was desperately sad to hear that she has died. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

That's really sad to hear. I am surprised how close I have got to my new postal friends and I am not surprised you feel the loss. My condolences to your friends family and for your loss.
I am also adding my condolences to you and the family of your friend's loss of life.
I feel for your loss of a friend and send my condolences to you and her family. I have already grown close to many people in this blogging world in such a short time. It is a family of sorts and how fast we share our lives.
Many thanks for your kind wishes. It's always surprising how close you can become to online friends but, undoubtedly, you do.
Oh, that is sad. It s always hard to find out an online friend has passed. We do become surprisingly fond of each other, don't we?
@Emm, we do become fond of each other, and I still find it puzzling in a way, when normally we've never even seen each other.
