South Dakota
Postmarked Redfield, SD, and dated 30 May 2008.
Enjoy the Hiking Trails in South Dakota.
#25067 The State of South Dakota has taken an old railroad corridor built in the early 1900s and made a 110 mile multi-use trail for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. This old bridge is being remodelled to be part of the trail.

I confess I knew nothing whatever about South Dakota until I received this card and then looked up the Wikipedia entry.

ReplyDeleteHi, photographer Chad Coppess here. Found you by searching for my name. Kind of fun to see one of my postcards show up here. Thanks for looking up South Dakota, and if you're interested in more, check my blog at www.dakotagraph.com.
ReplyDeleteJust read that you are looking for more info on the cards. The info with this one is not quite correct. This old railroad bridge is located near Placerville Church Camp in South Dakota's Black Hills. It actually was torn down a few years ago. Several similar bridges were remodelled and are now part of the Mickelson Trail as mentioned above, but not this one.
ReplyDeleteHi Chad, thank you so much for passing by, and for the extra information. How exciting, to have the original photographer here!
