Estonia

An interesting set of postmarks because it has obviously done some travelling before it arrived here with me, slightly the worse for wear.
Postmark 1 Pärnu, Estonia, dated 28 August 2008.
Postmark 2 Tallinn PK, Estonia, dated 9 September 2008.
It arrived with me on 17 September.

Estonia is in northern Europe bordered by Finland to the north. The capital and largest city is Tallinn. Pärnu is known as Estonia's summer capital, a popular holiday resort. The only picture I have been able to identify on the card is the white building on the right which is the University of Tartu, founded in 1632.

  1. Hi. I found you via Caroline's Black Box widget. What a very cool site. And I was just talking the other day about taking a weekend break in Talinn, of all places.

  2. What a brilliant idea! Glad I found you (I think you came to me through Black Box??). I used to keep all the postcards that came my way - had two huge boxes of them. I am a hoarder, my mother a chucker, and I fear I may have been persuaded to throw them out when I left home - or, they went into my parents' attic and have no doubt long since been removed! This blog makes me think how right I was to keep them, and how sad I am at the thought that they may now be gone forever, in land fill somewhere...

All that said, I'm afraid I can't add anything illuminating about this Estonia pc!

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
