Zuihoden shrine
Postmarked Yokohama and dated 29 August 2008
The information on the back of the card is in Japanese, and I just can't read it.
The sender of the card works in Kawasaki, the neighbouring town to Tokyo, but was brought up in Sendai which is where the Zuihoden shrine can be found. Sendai is famous for having many beautiful trees and is called "The City of the Forest" in Japanese. It is home to various historical sites related to the Date family. The ruins of Sendai Castle are located close to the centre of town on Aobayama, which also gives a panoramic view of the city. The Zuihoden Mausoleum is the tomb of Date Masamune.
