Horseshoe Falls, Niagara, Canada

Bought in 1994 when visiting Canada.  Never posted.

Niagara Falls

A whirlpool of mist and water surround the Maid of the Mist as it tours through the turbulent waters.

I'm sure Niagara Falls need no introduction - massive waterfalls on the border of Canada and the USA.  Not only are they beautiful, but they are a source of hydro-electric power.  The Maid of the Mist is a boat tour of the Falls.

  1. I have always wanted to go to Canada. My sister got to go for her honeymoon (years ago of course) and she told me it was so beautiful she did not want to leave. That boat tour would be so cool, I would love it. Thank you for sharing this postcard.

  3. @Jodi, yes I must say everywhere I saw was beautiful, but I didn't do the boat tour.
@Jakill, I'm quite sure it is fabulous. Maybe next time, if there is one.

  4. Dear Sheila,
I just made a profound discovery. I have noticed over the months that several of your cards are listed as "never posted". I have always been a bit puzzled at this, but just assumed you posted many of your cards more than once on this blog. Today it occurred to me that what your are really saying is that certain cards were never mailed. An epiphany for me. Posting is what I do on my blog, and mailing is what I do to postcards. So you can understand my confusion. How odd to be from a foreign land, I think.

Um... I have been on one of the many Maids of the Mists. Canadian side, of course. I still have my souvenir plastic raincoat with hood. They let you keep it, you know. Not bad for a $35 boat ride ticket, eh?

PS - I too found Canada beautiful indeed. But I was able, finally, to tear myself away.

  6. Max, I'm so glad that dawn has broken. I don't suppose there's any chance it will stay that way? No, I thought not.
