Rustaq, Sultanate of Oman

Postmark is illegible but somewhere in England, dated 18 November 1998.

Old Mansion, Rustaq
Sultanate of Oman

Rustaq was once the capital of Oman.  The fort there is an imposing structure, containing separate houses, an armoury, a mosque and four towers. The town itself is fairly modern.

  2. Oman. I seldom think of Oman. I like the palm trees and the old mud (we would call adobe) buildings.

  3. I like this one! I love the idea of old castles built in the sand.

  4. @Jodi, hi! I hope you're feeling better.

@Max, it doesn't enter my thoughts often either. I only know the name.

@Emm, it's very attractive isn't it. I like it too even though I couldn't find out much about it.

  5. This card is really evocative of Oman. I'm blessed at the moment to have a student from Oman in my Grade 6 class here in the Montreal area. She and her three siblings are spending a few years here in Canada.
I can tell you that our frigid temperatures and deep, heavy snow are a real change!

  6. @Evelyn , moving from Oman to Canada must be an incredible shock!

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
