Deal Pavillion, Kent

Postmarked Deal, Kent, dated 9 September 1932.

The message reads:
Dear Lily
We are leaving here at 2-30 & expect to be home at 6 o'clock.  Sit in the chairs on the verandah if we should be late.  I hope you had a nice time at Cromer.
Violet.
So many of the old cards I have seem to have been used in place of a telephone conversation.  The post must have been much more reliable and speedier than it is nowadays.  I love the names too - Lily and Violet belong to a bygone time, and no longer fashionable.  I wonder if they will one day be back in favour.

Unfortunately I haven't yet managed to find any reference to Deal Pavillion.  I know it has been demolished because it isn't there any longer.  Should anyone happen by who does have more information, I'd be delighted to hear it.

  1. Wonderful.
Some of these old structures may have been pulled down, but the memories remain.

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
