4. Kata and Karon Beaches,  5. Karon Beach, 6. Sunset at Kalim Bay.

Phuket is a province of Thailand and also the largest island.  The island is connected to the mainland at Phang Nga province by a bridge.  The island was hit by Tsunami in 2004 but it's recovered now.

  1. I have never been to Phuket even though the island's very near to where I live.

  2. Sheila, Phuket is a great place to visit. I spent a very happy month there on a TEFL course back in 2007.

Some fantastic beaches and a great jumping off point for island hopping in the Andaman Sea (James Bond island etc).

  3. Ooh-la-la, another nice map card!
My husband and I spent one month in Phuket -- same as Mike, my husband did a TOEFL course there last year. The beaches beaches are beautiful but could get really crowded.

  4. I visited Phuket several times. If you are a movie fan, you can go do a day trip to Phi Phi Island where "Blue Lagoon" and James Bond Island where a 007 flick were filmed.
