Nepal, Dattatreya Square

The postmark is illegible, but the card is dated 13 July 2009.  It was sent to me by a Postcrossing friend who was on holiday in Nepal.
Dattareya Square
The temple of the Guru of Lord Shiva, after whom the square is named, is thronged by both pious women and ascetics.

Dattatreya Square is considered one of the gems of Bhaktapur, an ancient city in Nepal.  It was the seat of the royal family until the 15th century.  The enormous temple on the card is thought to have been built by King Yaksha Malla.
