Subotica

Subotica ia a city in northern Serbia, just 10 km from the Hungarian border.  It was at one time the second largest city in Hungary.  The largest building in the picture is of the Town Hall.

  1. What a surreal-looking photo. It reminds me of the setting for a scary movie. Subotica has quite an impressive town hall!

  2. What an overcast sky. I have to agree with Pat. It does look kind of surreal.

  3. ♥ I love this one! Of course, having fallen in love with a certain part of the world, that is not surprising. Is that Austro-Hungarian architecture, do you think?

  4. @Pat, it looks somewhat "digitally enhanced" to me. I hadn't thought of scary, but I do see what you mean.

@Rnsane, yes, surreal does describe it well. :)

@Emm, I spent the best part of yesterday evening trying to find out more. There seemed to be little to find out. It probably is Austro-Hungarian considering the history of the place, but I really don't know.

  5. Some of the architecture looks Gothic in orientation. Interesting for the area.
