One of a number of cards that John from English Wilderness has so kindly given to me. John is an excellent photographer and an intrepid explorer.
The title on the reverse of the card is "Autumn punts on Trinity Backs". It doesn't look much like autumn but I suppose that's why there are so many leaves about even if they are green. I can't say I've ever seen leaves falling in straight rows before as they seem to be in the nearest punt. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's something to do with the way the punt is made.
The Backs are the stretch of the River Cam where some of the colleges of the University of Cambridge back on to it, Trinity being one of the largest.
Whatever the time of year, it is certainly gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHowdy
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF :)
What a beautiful image ,it simply leaps out at you and invites you to join in the celebration of a peaceful afternoon by the water .Truly lovely and relaxing.
I'm like you I am a bit curious about the leaves.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Until Next Time
Happy Trails
Such a pretty scene. I want to be there! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice picture. I wonder whether those leaves blew off in a storm.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture - zillions of skinny leaves - maybe from a willow tree? We had a lot of those in our yard at another house and they were super hard to rake up. The trees get absolutely huge here in Michigan but are really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDelightful and restful image.
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF, and thanks for sharing.
We spent a fantastic afternoon in a punt on the river although it wasn't as peaceful as it looks in the postcard. At one point it would've been possible to cross the river by walking from punt to punt :-)
ReplyDeleteIntriguing picture. The punts must have been moored there some time to collect so many leaves from the willow.
ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful image.
ReplyDeletePretty and peaceful! I recently read about someone going out in a punt. The little boat I imagined looked much like these - without the leaves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful card!
ReplyDeleteGo green. Three punts intended. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind in viewing last weeks entries!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely postcard. :-)
