Riga
"Pearls of Latvia" is, according to the back of this card, a travel guide to the country but this card is a pearl itself. It must be one of the most eye-catching I've seen in quite a while. It shows St Peter's church which is first mentioned in records in 1209 but not only was the original church added to, as is so often the case, but it has been rebuilt after fires in 1721 and 1941.
It has certainly brightened up a winter's day.

I like it. Is it a sunrise or a sunset?
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful and with such a rich history.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous photograph! I wish I could have gotten to that part of Europe in my travels!
