Bridal Veil Falls

I wonder how many waterfalls there are in this world called Bridal Veil Falls?   I know I have a postcard from New Zealand showing one of them, and in the comments I was told there is another in Ohio.

Here is a vintage style card showing the Bridal Veil Falls in California, in the Yosemite National Park.  It is, I believe, at its best in the spring when the melting snow makes it flow with a remarkable force as it seems to in the picture.

  1. Just lovely! Do you have a pc of Issaqueena Falls? I always meant to visit when I lived in SC, yet never got around to it. I wish I had postcards at least.

I just learned how the tunnel there was once used to store cheese. Postcards give just enough info to make a body want to learn more.

    You have a great collection.

  2. There might be a lot of falls by that name, but when I Googled "Bridle Veil Falls" all I got was a news story about a poor horse.

  3. There's a Bridal Veil Falls here in Oregon too. There's also a little Post Office in Bridal Veil, Oregon. It's not much larger than an outhouse, but people like to send their wedding announcements from there to get the Bridal veil postmark. We drove out there with our wedding announcements earlier this year for just that reason - and because the scenery is gorgeous.

  4. @Limner, no, I'm afraid I have surprisingly few cards from the USA. I know what you mean about wanting to know more - they do that to me too.

@Max, why don't I believe you, not even with your spelling? :)

@Christine, how romantic! I would never have thought of that.

  7. Bridal Veil Falls in Yosemite is spectacular. There is a famous old hotel in the park from whose dinig room you can see these falls. Has to be one of the best dining room views around!

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
