In the Guardian today there is an article about the lost art of postcard writing. NO-O-O-O-O-O-O! Most of the cards I receive have plenty of writing and some people hardly know where to stop!
The author obviously hasn't met any of us, but it's an interesting and amusing article to read. I am pleased to see a number of of comments to the article actually do mention Postcrossing.
For one thing, postcards in my town are difficult to find. I'm wanting one to send to my pen pal. So far, no luck. So I'm willing to write on a postcard, but first I need to find one!
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that a great many of the postcards I see around that are available to buy, more are blank than written on...but probably because people are more apt to hang on to those with special meaning, with notes from loved ones and etc. Great post, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have no trouble finding them but I never think of sending one out since most everyone I know has email. It is nice getting them as I have 3 on display at the back of my desk that I have received from blog friends.
