Flowers for the cold streets
Our streets have been a lot warmer recently, almost too warm for the season but it doesn't mean we don't need the flowers. We do! Spring flowers are possibly the most encouraging and inspiring of any, and the first sight of them after a long and cold winter is a joy.
This is a painting in the naive style of Raija Nokkala from Finland and the title is, "Kukkia kylmille kaduille" or "Flowers for the cold streets". I like the idea of someone who might have the job of welcoming the new season with flowers and leaving them in the streets needing to be warmed.

ReplyDeleteGreat card! I like naive art and folk art. Fun card ... the little girl, the kitty, the birds in the trees. Wonderful! Happy PFF
ReplyDeleteIt's so bright and cheerful, with a little bit of Marc Chagall thrown in.

ReplyDeleteMakes me want to go out and buy a couple of pots of flowers for me and my neighbours. Lovely card and thanks so much for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Spring Flowers--we've just had the wettest March in recorded history--over eight inches of rain, and yet the flowers are here--shyly lifting their faces into the dreary rain. So Lovely--as is your postcard, my dear! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the rich beautiful colours in this postcard. It is pretty. Thanks do much for finding my page on Facebook! It is a nice way to connect, that is for sure!
