Transport in various forms

I took part in a round robin exchange of cards recently, with the theme of transport.  I loved this tram postcard I received from Russia, but I was even more delighted when I saw the superb stamps on the reveres.  I think a rocket could legitimately be considered a form of transport even if it's not one I'm ever likely to take.

The rocket stamp commemorates the 50 year anniversary of the building of the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, and the truck stamp shows the AMO-F-15, the first vehicle produced by the AMO factory which was later renamed ZiL.

This is a post for Sunday Stamps, now hosted by Violet Sky at "See it on a Postcard!"

  1. A rocket definitely qualifies, Sheila. The card makes you wonder how much the track is used with all that greenery between the lines. Fine truck stamp.

  2. I also was amazed to see all the greenery that you never see on our tracks. Loved the card and stamps.

  3. Lovely postcard and stamps, it is very green around the tram, it makes you wonder if they get to a part of the route that is totally overgrown.

  4. The view of the tram reminds me of some old postcards I have of the local streetcars here. I rode on a restored streetcar last year.

  5. Love that tram card!! Like taking a trip through the forest instead of along city streets.
The stamp is pretty cool, too. And nice that the extra bits around the truck, too.

  8. There is something quite romantic about trams, isn't there? A very nice postcard.

  9. What a mysterious scene, it could be part of a Studio Ghibli story. I didn't know Zil made trucks, I always associated them with the big black armoured cars the Soviet leaders zoomed around Moscow in.

  11. Great postcard and stamps. I don't see the terrorizing auto rickshaw there.
I spent most of my first month in India riding in them with my eyes closed!
