Golden Gate
It's not a bridge. The Golden Gate in this card refers to the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in South Africa. The outcrop you can see is the Brandwag rock, described on the back of the card as "awesome", and it is.
The park is best known for its landscapes rather than for wildlife, especially for the colours of the sandstone: red, orange, golden. It is also the site of many fossil finds - dinosaur eggs, skeletons and relatively recently the oldest dinosaur nesting site, probably dating from 190 million years ago.

I never knew how beautiful SA was until about a year ago. Now I love seeing pictures from there.
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing...when I saw the title, I was indeed looking for my bridge which celebrates its 75th birthday this month.
