Girl with a doll
Meisje Met Pop, or Girl with Doll, is a picture by Jan Sluyters (1881-1957), a watercolorist, graphic designer, illustrator, painter and illustrator. This portrait was painted in 1928. His works include children's portraits like this one but also still lifes, historical scenes, interiors and landscapes. However he may be best known for his portraits of women.
I thought at first it was just a cute little girl but the more I look at it, the more character I can see in it. She's obviously been dressed in her best clothes for the picture, though I'm not sure how thrilled she is with the experience.

I agree - she looks really rather determined! Great choice for today's theme too! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and what an expression on her face! A domestic goddess to be! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeletePictures of little girls with their dolls are especially appealing, and she does have a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteI love it too, great card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious card. Happy PFF
ReplyDeleteI think I have a similar photo as a child, where I don't look very pleased at all because the plastic doll that I'm holding was missing a leg -- the dog bit it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this card that reminded me of a childhood memory! Happy weekend.
