A Lielvārde belt

Lielvārde is an area in Latvia known for the traditional belt which has 22 symbols woven into its design. This one is 19th century, made of wool and flax and is over 340 cm (11 feet) long.  Similar types of patterns can be seen in Russian folk costumes.
