Heidelberg

On the reverse of the beautiful card showing Heidelberg Castle came this stamp celebrating - in song - 150 years of the German Choral Association!

I have several postcards of Heidelburg Schloss or Castle in Germany but this is by far the most attractive to date.  It looks as though it was taken in the setting sun.

This is a post for Sunday Stamps, now hosted by Violet Sky at "See it on a Postcard!"

  1. I like the design of the stamp. You can almost hear them singing.

  2. love the stamp with all those open mouths! it is fun to watch a choir singing and see the mouth shapes and how enthusiastic (or not!) the choristers are.

  3. that is such a happy stamp! To me it is like a one big choir, everyone singing his own way and in the end you just have this hillarious kind of performance :P

  6. The people seem to disappear into infinity on the stamp, its very cheery. Sunlight on buildings always a winner.

  9. Or did you mean the photo was taken at Hong Kong's peak, culturally speaking?

  10. That golden light is gorgeous! I really like the stamp too.

We have a Heidelberg in South Africa, in Gauteng 9the province I lived in). It is full of industrial and reform schools, kind of like an Alcatraz or Australia for young boys!
