When my mother was a young girl growing up in rural New Brunswick in the 1930/40s, she remembers how excited all the children were when the small berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) would ripen. She came from a very large family (14 siblings) and the best desserts they ever had were the pies that my grandmother would make with these fruits. Evelyn in Montreal
Those fruits look delectable! I can imagine wonderful fruit pies or bowls of them covered with fresh cream. Yummy!

Postcards from Finland are still my favorite. :)
ReplyDelete@rnsane, yes they do look good.
ReplyDelete@Evelyn, you're making my mouth water! Homemade fruit pies - there's nothing like them. They must have been large for 14 siblings.
@Max, they're unmistakeable, aren't they?
