May Day is traditionally the day to celebrate the coming of summer, originally having been the festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of fruit and flowers.
The first of May is Garland Day
So please remember the garland.
We don't come here but once a year,
So please remember the garland.
This card, which puts me in mind of early summer, was in fact sent to me in January 2009 as a reminder that summer would arrive. It did. I'm now waiting for summer 2010 to show itself.
