Last summer Australia issued a beautiful set of stamps showing beaches around the country. The card arrived the worse for wear with a stamp the Bay of Fires, Tasmania, also the worse for wear. The images of the set come from the Australia Post online shop.
This is a post for Sunday Stamps, now hosted by Violet Sky at "See it on a Postcard!"
The card contains very interesting information about the two countries. The stamps are great; thanks for the links - I shall have to find out about 'my' Broken Bay.
ReplyDeleteThe stamps are nice, but the postcard is strange.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/ Postcardy, the stamps make me dream of a vacation but I really don't know how to interpret the card.
ReplyDeleteI love those stamps a lot and would love to be on one of those beaches.
ReplyDeleteThe card certainly highlights the vastness of Australia. I'd love to be on one of those beautiful beaches at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of the card is similar to the one showing Australia superimposed on Europe. I don't find it quite so impressive because I didn't really realise Japan was so big. I think I was supposed to to be surprised at, as Joy says, the vastness of Australia.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite a huge country, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI have the bay of fire too! must be the right postage for international postcards.
ReplyDeleteI am late in commenting b/c of a huge windstorm here. I was without electricity (and no internet!) for 36 hours.
