Two postcards I bought to send out but until I remember where I found them and can replace them, they won't be going anywhere. I can't part with them.
They are both by Jessie Willcox Smith, an American artist, and both appeared on the cover of Good Housekeeping magazine during the 1920s. They may have been specifically for the British version of the magazine which was first produced in 1922 because the images are marked as copyright of The British Library Board.
Sheila they are about as adorable as any card I have ever seen. I can see why you do not want to part with them.
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I wish I can receive postcards like this. This is classic! I wish you can buy more and send me one. :P
ReplyDeletevery sweet cards!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely and remind me of the Dick and Jane series for sure! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe top one reminds me of a Mary Engelbreit ... wonder if Jesse was her inspiration? These are so cute. Thanks for sharing and for visiting me last week.
