Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is not so much a square as a grand avenue.  It is named after Saint Wenceslas who was awarded the title of King of Bohemia after he died, and has since had a Christmas carol written about him:
Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
.
There is a statue of him on a horse right at the far end as you view this card, and behind that statue is the National Museum.  It is a wonderful building.  I would almost say the building is more interesting than the exhibits, but apparently it is now closed for several years for refurbishment.

The Square is part of the historic centre of Prague, a World Heritage Site.  I was lucky enough to stay there for about a week a few years ago.
