Oberammergau
I remember learning about Oberammergau, in the Bavarian region of Germany, at school during German lessons but that was all about the Passion Plays that are held there every 10 years. The cast of over 2000 are all village residents even though the population is only just over 5000.
The postcard shows something else in Oberammergau, the Lüftlmalerei or frescoes showing traditional scenes. This house is decorated with scenes from the story of Red Riding Hood.
This is a post for Postcard Friendship Friday hosted on Beth Niquette's blog, The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

That is simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual chalet. I've always wanted to go to the passion play. Great card. Happy PFF
