Postmarked Tulsa OK and dated 14 July 2004.
In spite of the frivolous appearance of the card, it sends an important message. Today 15 January is the anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King, the birth of a man who was to become the youngest to have received the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his work for racial equality and civil rights. In his acceptance speech he said:
Non-violence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time: the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.It is a message that we should still hear today.
What a nice postcard...good illustration!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila.
ReplyDeleteLove the illustration, too!
That's what some people say -- do not judge a postcard merely by its illustration :)
Good message that we all need to be reminded of once in awhile--and a cute postcard, too!
