Not a postcard, but an award from my great friend ~RE, from Bad Gals Radio. Thank you so very much for this, it is very much appreciated.
Then from Hans Thane of A Compound a Day, a tag: 6 random things about myself. So here goes.
- I have never counted all the postcards in my collection.
- I keep most of them in old shoe boxes. They fit very neatly, apart from the extra large cards.
- They are almost completely unsorted. I cannot decide on an appropriate way of filing them.
- Collecting postcards satisfies my fascination for trivial pieces of information as well as for different countries.
- I love postcards to have a stamp and a written message. Brand new or mint cards have no soul.
- At one time I used to like cards that showed well known views or buildings. Now I realise there is a whole world of beautiful and also witty postcards that I hadn't appreciated.
I inherited a box of old postcards and holiday cards when my father died and we divide them up. So interesting to go through and see where people had vacationed, and look at the old stamps and postmarks.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone deserves an award, it is you. I wish you many more.
Yes, it's so interesting to go through old family cards. Thank you for your good wishes. I think. :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have a inquiry for the webmaster/admin here at apostcardaday.blogspot.com.
May I use some of the information from this blog post above if I give a link back to this site?
Thanks,
Jules
Hi Jules, could you let me know where and what? The information in this post doesn't seem all that fascinating.
