Frigiliana

Postmarked Malaga, dated 19 July 2003.

596. Calle Tipica
Frigiliana

Frigiliana is a village in Andalucia, on the Costa del Sol, about 5 km inland in the foothills of the Almijara mountains.  It is a village in the Moorish style where even new houses are white painted and with the same architecture.

It was sent to me by my mother from what turned out to be her last trip outside England.   If the truth be told, she was already rather too infirm to have travelled but she was visiting friends and dearly wanted to go.

  1. It looks like a rather cheery place for a final sojourn abroad.

no doubt she picked it, because she wanted that sunny feeling.

A beautiful card and sentiment my friend.

  2. A very qauint street, it must be lovely to walk down it, but a bit harder climbing up it.

  3. It does look beautiful, doesn't it? I know my mother enjoyed her stay. I doubt whether she attempted to walk either up or down it! :)
