PFF: Pennsylvania

Postmarked Pittsburgh, PA, dated 25 March 2009.
Pennsylvania
The Keystone State
State of Independence
State bird: Ruffled grouse
State flower: Mountain laurel.

It has finally dawned on me that this great map card was sent by PostMuse who has been commenting here for quite a while.  I don't know why it took me so long to put two and two together, but we won't dwell on that. :)

PostMuse has a great project going, to deal with all her thousands of orphaned postcards, cards she collected originally unwritten.  Now the idea is to send them out to people, preferably in the appropriate country, who will write a message on the back, affix postage, and then return the cards in the mail.  One day the cards, the messages, may be made into a book, a wonderful idea!  I'm going to put my hand up for a few right now.

  9. I just love these map postcards with all the little pictures on them. We should have these pictures on our roadmaps, so people who are directionally challenged - as I am - will have a better idea of where in the world we are.
