Isles of Scilly

Postmarked Cornwall, dated 17 November 2005.
Belladonnas in a field near Porthellick.

The Isles of Scilly are considered to be part of Cormwall, but they are a group of islands 28 miles southwest of Lands End.  They lie directly in the Gulf Stream's warming currents, so they rarely experience frosts and are a haven for wildlife not usually seen on the mainland.  The islands are reached by sea or by helicopter from Pennzance in Cronwall.
