It is beautiful - and fences can say so much - not only about the local building materials but also about how the society is organized.
ReplyDeleteIn North America "wars" have been fought between those who wanted fences (farmers) and those who did not (ranchers.
In earlier pioneer times fences and other demarcation lines reflected the notion of individual land ownership (something that First Nations people didn't appreciate.
