Tanera Mhor, Summer Isles

Hands up who knew where the Summer Isles were? No, I hadn't heard of them either. They are a group of islands off the north west of Scotland. The one inhabited island is Tanera Mhor. It has a salmon farm, a post office and a cafe. The post office has printed its own stamps since 1970, and they are apparently much sought after.

I love all the little things I learn visiting blogs. I hope people learn from mine also (I mean besides the fact that I am a Yankees fan).
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
The rest of the islands are inhabited?
ReplyDelete@Bella, we will all be expert at Trivial Pursuit! :)
ReplyDelete@Mei Teng, no, that's the largest and only inhabited one.
