Sukhothai Hisorical Place, Thailand
The postmark is partially smudged. It starts "Thamma..." and since the sender lives in Bangkok, I imagine that must be an area of Bangkok, but I suppose not necessarily - it could say "Post early for Christmas" for all I know. The card is dated 17 July 2009.
The Sukhothai was a city in the 13th and 14th century, capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sukhothai is rather north of Thailand if compare to Bangkok. It is first capital of Thailand since we were called Siam.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card.
Hi Sheila this postcard just goes to show that you can live in a country and not know all the places!
ReplyDeleteI shall have to do some research now.
Hi! I saw the link to your blog on Postcrossing forum and decided to peek... You have a beautiful postcard collection! :)
ReplyDeleteIt could be Thammasat. There's a big university there :)
ReplyDelete@BeachIlike, it is a beautiful car, you are right.
ReplyDelete@Mike, I suppose it's a long way from you if it's up north. Certainly I've never heard of it before but that's hardly surprising!
@ninolina, thanks so much for visiting!
@adrienne, that sounds likely then - many thanks. :)
