To tell the truth, I'm still none the wiser. I was hoping it would turn out to be a well-known work of art and that someone would point me in the right direction. So maybe it really is just a clever designer of postcards who photoshopped it into existence.
Whatever it is, I am with you--it is fascinating! I LOVE this--thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder what is it :)
ReplyDeleteVery unusual and I can't figure it out. I've certainly never come across it in my travels!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, it looks like something photoshopped!:-)
ReplyDeleteSheila is this photoshop ?

ReplyDeleteWhatever it is, it's from Germany and some fantastic trompe l'oeil! Thanks so much for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteIt's cool, I love it!
ReplyDeleteA look at it and I thought it is an optical illusion or a 3D art piece. Then again, if this is a real place, it will be truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to wander up to the edge and look to see what's at the bottom. Probably a hot air balloon or something equally unexpected :-)
ReplyDeleteSheila it is a trompe l'oeil painting reproduced on the postcard. Does the back of the postcard have anything to say?
ReplyDeleteSheila, here's a link to other trompe l'oeil paintings like yours: Trompe l'oeil Scroll down a bit to the street paintings :)
