Auguste Renoir: Les deux soeurs - The Two Sisters

Postcards never do justice to original works of art because the real thing has a totally different impact that a reproduction never approaches.  Renoir's works in particular have a special quality that nothing else seems to capture.  Nevertheless postcards and posters do serve as a lovely reminder of something special.

This picture of two sisters is part of the Niarchos collection in London.  It was the first major purchase that Stavros Niarchos made, in 1952.
