The Church of the Resurrection, St Petersburg

Also known as the Church of the Saviour on the Spilt or Spilled Blood, or even just the Church on the Blood, because it stands on the spot where Alexander II was assassinated in 1881.  Although it was built much later, it is in the style of 16th and 17th century churches in Russia.  It contains a superb collection of mosaics and is one of the main tourist attractions in St Petersburg.
