I never tire of looking at this one, there is such a lovely contrast between the places where people live, with the places where they work as a backdrop. This is another card sent to me by PostMuse, see my blog roll for her link.
From the back of the card:
While suburban locals refer to their homes as resting on "grades" rather than hills, Pittsburg's South Side community offers a quaint contrast to the metropolitan skyline behind it. Loaded with small shops and restaurants and located just a mile east of Station Square, the South Side is easily accesible to most of the Pittsburgh area. And that, I imagine, makes it a highly desirable place to live. Probably highly expensive too, since both seem to go hand in hand.

ReplyDeleteIt looks a beautiful place, There again ive
fallen in love with alot of places here in the USA and i am loving living in this country.
I know pittsburgh as "The City of Bridges" and "The Steel City" for its many bridges and former steel manufacturing base:)
Wow! It is a nice pic. When one thinks Pittsburg they usually think 4 feet of snow so it is a contrast in that respect too.
ReplyDeleteParts of South Side are expensive (though at one time the whole area was very cheap), but what actually holds us back from even considering this neighborhood is the noise. There are more bars (pubs) in this part of the city than any other part of the city, and it gets a bit rowdy :-)
ReplyDeleteI went to a nursing conference in Pittsburgh about ten years ago. It seemed like a lovely city. I liked the hills. Being a transplanted San Francisco, I am not content on the flatlands any more.
