The Year of the Rabbit
This romantic looking winter view of the main commercial street, rue Saint Denis, in the Plateau Mont Royal district of Montréal, once a working class area but now considered one of the trendiest and up-market spots in Canada. Someone on Postcrossing left a comment with the Google map location. It looks rather different there, though clearly the same place.
I chose this card for Sunday Stamps because it has the first "Year of the Rabbit" stamp I've received.
I did receive a Year of the Tiger stamp from China, last July.
And from there I can easily segue to a number of really beautiful Chinese stamps I've received in the recent past. Because they are works of art in themselves, I've left the clickable images quite large so that you can appreciate the detail.
This is a post for Sunday Stamps, now hosted by Violet Sky at "See it on a Postcard!"

Hi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteWow, you have some really neat stuff on here! I am your newest follower and am putting you on my sidebar under "Postcard and Stamp Blogs". Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Oh, I took your suggestion and will leave a link to Cape Disappointment on that post soon.
Have a great week,
Kathy
Beautiful stamps. I love Canada's year of the rabbit issue.
ReplyDeleteOh how what a treat this post is, with the great stamp images. Canada's is special, and I also like the 4th set. The US stamp for the Chinese new eyar is rather disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating.
Great exotic stamps...But nothing says YOT Rabbit like the Kumquats!

A pretty rabbit stamp, how lucky to receive one. I love China stamps and you have a lovely selection. How apt that your 'segue stamp' with the Chinese characters is a Happy New Year stamp.
ReplyDeleteLovely stamps. Nice rabbit one.
ReplyDeleteI love the Asian stamps I've seen. I cannot even remember what year of what animal I am...and I'm not even sure I want to know!
