Taroko National Park, Taiwan

Taroko National Park was, in 1986, the fourth of eight national parks created in Taiwan.  It's named after the Taroko Gorge or the Marble Gorge.  Taroko translates as "magnificent and beautiful".  The picture may be of a dead tree but it truly is a magnificent and beautiful one.

  2. I visited Taiwan over Thanksgiving many years ago with my two youngest sons, then about 10 and 8. We never got out of Taipei City, there was so much there to see. I could have spent our whole five days in the National Museum.
