Since 2008, a German artist, Frank-Ole Haake has been building temporary stone sculptures out of rubble from streams and rivers - no glue or sticks or tricks, just balance. This one is called Sonnenengel. You can see others of his "guardians" on his website.
I imagine it's temporary art, but I like it very much.
