When you are a bear of very little brain

"When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it." [Very true for me at the moment]

"To the uneducated, an A is just three sticks."

"Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day."

"I used to believe in forever, but forever is too good to be true."

"Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?" [All the time]

"If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear."

Some of my favourite Pooh Bear (or Winnie-the-Pooh) quotes; there are many more.  AA Milne's books had something of a cult following when I was a student and he still manages to bring a smile to my face.  I think I may even still have a copy of "Now We Are Six" given to me, presumably, on my sixth birthday.
But now I am Six,
I'm as clever as clever,
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.
This is a post for Postcard Friendship Friday hosted on Beth Niquette's blog The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

  1. What a fun post! The stamps are beautiful. I love seeing the original drawings instead of Disney's reinterpretation of Pooh. Pooh was my favorite bear when I was a child (except for my own dear Teddy). Heck, he still is one of my favorite bears. Thanks for this post. It makes me want to pull out my Pooh volumes. Maybe in winter when the snow flies....

  4. I love Now We Are Six. I gave it to my daughter for her sixth birthday and it was the first thing she read by herself!

  5. I love those stamps. Did you ever play Pooh Sticks? Used to play that with my kids. We took a big handful of popsicle sticks and painted them. Used some to play and then I believe we gave some to my sister as a gift from the kids.
