Boys and their toys

"We're going sailing today with our own boat.  Later we'll have a real one, once we find one that's big."

The card is postmarked 1937, Vriezenveen in the Netherlands.  Before I checked that, I would have guessed the date to have been 1940s to 50s judging by the clothes, but possibly  fashions didn't change very fast in those days.

A post for Sepia Saturday.  A click on the button will take you to the blog.

  3. Good catch on the unattended carriage. I was more taken with the charming knickers and vests and tousled heads.

  6. What a sweet picture and quote. Not when they get big, but when they find a bigger boat.

  8. I would have thought knickers were out of style by the 1940s.
