New England
New England, as observed and described by Captain John Smith. I had to get my magnifying glass out to discover that much.
John Smith was an explorer in the 17th century but then portrait shown on this card dates from the 19th century, so it's hard to know the date of the drawing of the map without closer examination.
An international card, it was sent by a Chinese student studying at the moment in the USA, but the card itself appears to have been printed in Russia.

Strange about it's origin
ReplyDeleteIt is, very.
DeleteThe map still looks fairly accurate to me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to have a higher opinion of "Captain" John Smith than he had of himself. Pocahontas should have let her daddy string him up.
I like old maps. I like this one a lot.
You must have better eyes than I have.
DeleteThere definitely is a lot of detail on this card. Odd that it was printed in Russia.
