The scholar

Elisabeth Bohm (or Elisaveta Bem) was a Russian painter who created over 350 postcards during her lifetime 1843-1914.  This is one of a series illustrating each letter of the alphabet.

K is for книжник or scholar.  This of course is a modern reproduction of the original.  I do wonder if the whole alphabet is available because it would make a lovely collection.

This is a post for Postcard Friendship Friday hosted on Beth Niquette's blog, The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

  1. It is beautiful indeed - what a wonderful collection if indeed there was an entire alphabet!!!

    Happy PFF

  2. She has included so many little details in this card. She was quite prolific, wasn't she?!

  3. great postcard! I bet the entire set is quite fantastic

  4. I would love to see more of them

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
