Henri Matisse (1869-1954) was a French artist but this card was sent to me from Russia because this painting, The Artist's Family, is in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. I really like the domestic image of the family relaxing together.
This is a post for Postcard Friendship Friday hosted on Beth Niquette's blog, The Best Hearts are Crunchy.
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog by coincidence. I am also a snail mailer and I have a blog as well. So, check it out http://annemeetstheworld.blogspot.pt/ if you want to.
Have a wonderful day *
I visited the Hermitage one 4th of July many years ago. There were no cars on the streets and a band out front was playing a series of American songs - very well, in fact.
ReplyDeletethat's a nice card. I still enjoy an afternoon or evening with family and friends playing board games.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful....and so touchingly fitting for me this day. I have been out of town, helping my Mom clean my Uncle's place for a big family reunion. I actually met a cousin I didn't know existed. What a fun event. This postcard reminds me of family and friends--so perfect for this week. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I've been out of touch--I LOVE this post. Thanks for your patience, and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!
