Rice paper
Traditional rice paper or Xuan paper or xuanzhi originated in China. It's considered the best type, of the many different types of paper, for Chinese calligraphy because it is particularly soft and finely textured. It is very resistant to wear and tear, creasing, mould growth so many of the ancient Chinese books and paintings still survive.
The card carries a pre-printed stamp of the same design.

As you reviewed a Rice Paper postcard, I decided to talk about a Dongba Paper postcard today. ^^
ReplyDeleteGreat, I must pop over to yours and have a look. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely card. Many shops here in the San Francisco area have rice paper goods.
