A bumper bundle from Russia

Not one but three map cards arrived from Russia this week, all from the same person.  They are all by the artist Daria Gerasimova, the third being very like the style of the "cat map" that arrived a few months ago.  This time there is a horse galloping over a map of Tomsk.  A long time ago, I was taught something about Omsk and Tomsk in a history lesson at school.  Sadly, only those two names remain and nothing about their significance.

On the envelope were two stamps out of the se-tenant strip commemorating the 300th anniversary of the Moscow Post Office.

This is a post for Sunday Stamps, now hosted by Violet Sky at "See it on a Postcard!"

  1. It was fun seeing all the different animals

  2. Postcard collectors seem to have a lot of modern stamps. I dread to think how old my Russian stamps can be - nothing as well designed as these. We also have a lot of birds in common with Russia looking at that card.

  3. Love the animal and birds on Russia makes it look a wild place. No wonder it takes so long for the post to get anywhere. I like the stamps, from troika to van.

  4. The map cards I have received have all been a little on the boring side. I especially like the last one (and the cat ). And I looked up this Ordin-Nashchokin - very forward thinking an entrepreneurial.

  8. These postcards are fantastic. I just returned from vacationing in Russia and have never seen these anywhere. Is there a a way to purchase any of these or other postcards from this artist?
