I'm away from home and my postman can't find me. This comes from Russia but there is no information at all on the back and I haven't been able to work out the words on the front, so I'm assuming it's a Russian postman, delivering me a postcard.
I have the same card! I love it. Anyway, when I posted about it on my blog, a commenter said that it says "Hello from" and then you'd write in where you were sending the card from, because there used to not be much space to write on the backs of cards: http://deltiolog.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/mr-postman/ Apparently the spelling and letters are slightly different than they are now.

Aha! Now I understand. :)
DeleteI like it for it's unique appearance. Hope you are having a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Odie!
DeleteMy russian dictionary has that as 'sent from'?
ReplyDeleteYour Russian dictionary is a lot more helpful than Google translate. :)
DeleteHe looks as if he takes his duties very seriously. What a fine card.
ReplyDeleteOf course. :)
DeleteI like.............
ReplyDeleteMe too. :)
DeleteScary moustache. It should be linked to this week's Sepia Saturday!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it should. I was thinking it was too modern but of course it's an old image.
DeleteGreat postcard, nice vintage feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa!
