Cocoa or cat?
There was a television ad a few years ago that showed two little girls, sisters. The elder one asked the younger which she preferred, Daddy or chips? The little girl puzzled all day but when supper time came and Daddy stole one of her chips, she made the decision easily - she preferred chips!
This card from the Netherlands is a reproduction of an ad for Van Houten's cocoa (considered a superior cocoa). It provokes the same reaction in me - as fond as I am of my cat, I'd prefer to drink my cocoa myself.

No reason you can't still have your cacao when kitty comes up for air. A delightful card. :)
ReplyDeleteThe girl looks sweet allowing the cat to drink up her cocoa :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute card
ReplyDeleteHee hee. This reminds of when I went on a diet in university. Every calorie counted and I needed my food! My poor, spoiled little cat could not understand why I'd stopped sharing my food with her.
ReplyDeleteLovely vintage card.
Charming postcard
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, The advertisements of Van Houten's were famous here in the Netherlands. One of the first Dutch films was actually a Van Houten commercial. The Dutch text on your postcard means something like: The cat's breakfast. Your nose is in the tray, but it's allowed. You're not blue, that's what I can see. Happy PFF! Bob
